Who can enter the contest?
Anyone and everyone! All United States residents over the age of 18 can enter. Contestants must agree to participate according to the Office Contest Rules. Entering the contest is free and no purchase is necessary.

What digital photo formats and sizes will be accepted?
Photos must be in one of these digital formats: JPEG, PNG or GIF. Recommended size of photos is 2MB or smaller.
How many photos may a contestant submit?
As many as you like!
How does voting work?
Voting begins March 12, 2009 and continues through the Festival. Voting ends on March 22, 2009 at midnight. Voters may vote once per photo and may vote for an unlimited amount of photos during this time. Finalists for each category are determined by popular vote and will advance for a chance to win the grand prize. You do not need to submit a photo to vote.

Yes, the SFIAAFF uses its full discretion to remove any photos for any reason. Please comply with the Official Contest Rules.

We’re happy to address questions about the rules of the contest. However, we’re not extending technical support for formatting photos, uploading support, etc.
1. Introduction. The San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival presents The Best Fest Photo Contest (“Contest”), sponsored by Southwest Airlines (“Sponsor”), Wynn Las Vegas (“Sponsor”), Macy’s (“Sponsor”), and the Center for Asian American Media. One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected from all entries received, and four (4) finalists will be recognized. The Grand Prize for which an entrant is eligible to win is a trip to Las Vegas, NV, including roundtrip travel for two (2) from anywhere that Southwest Airlines flies to Las Vegas, NV, three (3) night stay at Wynn Las Vegas and a $500 Macy’s gift card. All applicable federal, state and local laws apply. The Contest is offered via the Internet on http://festival.asianamericanmedia.org/2009/ and only within the jurisdictions listed in below.
2. Timing. The Contest begins on March 12, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST) and ends on March 22, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
3. Eligibility. The Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia), eighteen (18) years of age or older. Void where prohibited. Employees, officers and directors of the Center for Asian American Media, Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas and Macy’s and their respective subsidiaries and agents, as well as the immediate family (defined as spouse, parents, children, siblings and grandparents) and household members of each such employee, officer and director are not eligible. By participating, entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, which are final and binding in all respects. VOID WHEREVER PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
4. How to Enter. Entrants will submit photos at http://festival.asianamericanmedia.org/2009/ that falls into one of the Contest Categories. Entrants must provide a name, valid email and mailing address and participate in a short survey. Submitted photos will then be screened for appropriate content by a Center for Asian American Media representative. All entrants must agree to receive the CAAM Connect. CAAM Connect is private and complimentary, and you may unsubscribe at any time. Your email address will remain confidential and will never be shared with any other company. All participating entrants submitting a photo agrees to abide by the Official Rules outlined within this page.
5. Rights. Each entrant is responsible for releases for their respective photo. Entrants shall defend, indemnify and hold Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media and their respective affiliated entities, and all sponsors harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages or other payments, including, without limitation, reasonable attorney fees, arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any of your warranties or representations herein. Releases must be available upon request.
6. Selection of Potential Winner. Public Internet voting will begin on March 12, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. PST and will end on March 22, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. PST. The photo with the most popular votes in each Category will enter to compete for the Grand Prize. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media will select four (4) judges, who will select the Grand Prize winner. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, and festive spirit. Potential winner will be notified by email within ten (10) days of announcement of the winner. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within ten (10) days of the first attempt to contact him/her, the potential winner forfeits the prize. In that event, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place from among all eligible entries received for the selected contest. Potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules; winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.
7. Prize. Roundtrip travel for two (2) from anywhere that Southwest Airlines flies to Las Vegas, NV, three (3) night stay at Wynn Las Vegas and a $500 Macy’s gift card. Arrangements for the fulfillment of the Grand Prize will be made by Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to substitute the Grand Prize, or any portion thereof, with prizes of comparable value. The Grand Prize is non-transferable. The Grand Prize Winner, as a condition of receiving the Grand Prize must sign (i) an affidavit of eligibility and liability to release Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media and their corporate parents, subsidiaries, affiliated entities, advertising agencies, and any other participating sponsors, and their respective employees, from any and all liability, claims, demands and causes of action for personal injury and/or damage, theft, loss, or any other harm suffered in connection with this Contest or the use or acceptance of the Grand Prize (ii) except where prohibited, a promotional release granting the right to use his or her name, likeness and photo for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation. Entry into this Contest constitutes each entrant’s agreement to sign such releases. Prior to the fulfillment of the Grand Prize, the winner may be required to provide Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media with identification proving his/her age and identity and also sign additional release(s) and/or agreement(s) necessary to fulfill the Grand Prize. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY, THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER (AT SOUTHWEST AIRLINES, WYNN LAS VEGAS, MACY’S AND THE CENTER FOR ASIAN AMERICAN’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH INDIVIDUAL’S DISQUALIFICATION AS THE GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF THE CONTEST AND ALL PRIVILEGES WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. Upon receipt of any part of the Grand Prize, Grand Prize Winner is required to comply with any and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations related thereto. The Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable fees and taxes associated with prize receipt and use.
8. Publicity. (a) Entrants hereby agree to submit their entries under the following terms and conditions: (i) that Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media may use entrants photos, and any ideas, concepts, materials, in whole or in part, contained in an entry to advertise, promote, and publicize Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media without further payment or consideration; (ii) entrants have obtained all rights, permissions and licenses necessary for Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media to use the entries for any purpose; (iii) that no entry, or any part thereof, infringes any trademark or copyright or otherwise violates anyone’s right of privacy or publicity; (iv) entrants indemnify and hold harmless Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media from any claims, suits, losses damages and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that arise from any breach of the following conditions. All entrants agree to the foregoing and in addition agree to obtain, upon request of Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, any documentation and releases necessary to prove their unrestricted ownership in all materials contained in their entries and their right to use such materials without limitation for any purpose. (b) Entrants grants to Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media the nonexclusive, irrevocable right and license to exhibit, broadcast, copy, reproduce, encode, compress, encrypt, incorporate data into, edit, broadcast, rebroadcast, transmit, record, publicly perform, and distribute and synchronize in timed relation to visual elements, the entrants photo and the entrants (such as personal information and/or elements, including but not limited to name(s), trademarks, tradenames, likenesses, photographs, biographical materials and all other graphic and/or textual material), and/or any portions or excerpts thereof, in any manner, an unlimited number of times, in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world, in perpetuity to advertise, promote, and publicize Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, and/or any of Producers’ worldwide programming services in all media throughout the universe and may authorize others to do so without further payment or consideration. Such advertising, promotion, and publicity may include portions and excerpts, in addition to cut-in, synchronized, dubbed and superimposed versions of the Materials. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media may use and authorize others to use Participant’s name, voice, biography, and likeness as well as those of artists or individuals who rendered services in connection with the entrants videos in any media for the purposes of advertising, promotion or publicizing the use without further payment or consideration by Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media
9. Release. By receipt of any prize, winner agrees that Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, it’s respective subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and the agents, employees, directors and officers of these companies (the “Released Parties”), are not liable whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize or from winner’s participation in the Contest.
10. Limitations of Liability. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, which are final in all matters relating to this Contest. No responsibility is assumed for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by an entrant, any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries or votes in this Contest. Neither Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s, nor the Center for Asian American Media is responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to entrant’s computer, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media, or any and all sponsors which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, or for any reason Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media deem it necessary, Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media reserves the right in their sole and unequivocal discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or the prizes. All interpretations of these Official Rules and the decisions of Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media are final. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media reserve the right in their sole and unequivocal discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering, or has tampered with the entry process; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.
11. Disputes. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant, and Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media in connection with the Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.
12. All interpretations of the rules and decisions by Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media are final. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the game; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an
unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Southwest Airlines, Wynn Las Vegas, Macy’s and the Center for Asian American Media reserves the right to amend these rules.
